STSA: Vital Resources for Entrepreneurial Growth in New York's Southern Tier

76West is a business competition focused on attracting startups from New York State, the US, and around the world, to build clean energy businesses and jobs in New York State’s Southern Tier Region. Sponsored by NYSERDA, the competition offers prizes to 6 clean energy startups each year from 2016-2019. Each year the competition will award:

  • One $1,000,000 top prize
  • One $500,000 prize
  • Four $250,000 prizes

  • 1 year of incubator space and support services to all winners including mentorship and industry connections

Here at the Southern Tier Startup Alliance, we’re proud to be implementing the 76West Competition under contract to NYSERDA. Our selection to implement the competition is indicative of our success in building a regional entrepreneurial community. STSA’s goal is to support the regional ecosystem of entrepreneurs and support organizations and build a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. By attracting clean energy companies to the Southern Tier, we’re not only building our regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, but strengthening it by fostering collaborations across the region to bring 76West to fruition.
